Rebecca and Sean Mack may be in their early 30s, but they love old houses. After buying a classic 1909 home in Dunthorpe (think sprawling dining room and a former ballroom), the photographer and the commercial real estate broker hired a design team to improve the home’s layout and infrastructure, and to upgrade the finishes and furnishings. Take a look at how fresh the once-dated dwelling is now!

Sali Borchman and Jeff Jenkins live in a light-filled 1908 bungalow that’s filled with their handiwork: he is a forester who fabricates metal art in his home studio; she is a registered nurse who loves to sew. Jenkins bought the fixer-upper in 1990, when it had shoddy floors and siding that leaked water down the plaster walls when it rained. Check out the results of the couple’s 17-year-long upgrade.
